The average bathroom remodel costs $10,436 Most homeowners spend between $5,968 and $14,905. You can spend as little as $3,500 to $7,000 updating the essentials in a small or medium-sized bathroom. On a large or master bath, you could spend $25,000 or more. Labor averages 50 percent of the total project price at about $65 per hour. Expect pricing to vary regionally up to 20 percent due mainly to labor. Material prices stay roughly the same across the country.
You can also opt for walk in shower designs without doors. Take a look at our bathroom remodeling ideas, compiled from our previous projects. You could have the other walls solid, glass-only or a solid base with a glass top half. One thing to note about the doorless walk in shower is that it does not allow for much privacy, and this is generally true for all walk in showers. If privacy is not your priority (or is already provided by other means) then a walk in shower is perfect.

There are so many good things here it is hard to decide what I like most. A neighbor farm has a keyless lock which I was surprised at. Like ULTralog UL3Bt mostof all. Being out side most of the day in spring, summer and fall, this would be very good. Also would not loose key when working outside. Like most of the rest, but the keyless lock is the best for me.

Here’s a word of warning, though. It’s going to take more time than you think. Why? Your bathroom may be the smallest room in the house, but you’re going to have to paint slowly and gently around the window, the tub or shower, the sink, the mirror, the toilet, the switchplates, the wall corners, and the floor. This takes time and patience (and a good supply of painter’s tape), so make sure you keep this in mind when planning your renovation.
The master bathroom is quickly becoming one of the most popular getaway rooms in the house. People are incorporating high-tech options like mirror-mounted mini televisions mounted and MP3 stereo systems in the shower. And spa elements—including showers that double as steam rooms, Jacuzzis and decadent soaking tubs, mini-bars and warming trays for towels—are all common master bathroom ideas nowadays. Here are some tips : Using all one material for clean simplicity, but it can be porcelain or ceramic tiles instead of marble or another expensive natural stone. Don’t forget the little luxuries, such as fresh flowers, wonderful soaps and body scrubs, scented candles, and a few super-fluffy towels. Be sure the colors are natural and soothing blues, greens, and gold are perfect. Harris also suggests other touches of nature: a window garden or photos of the mountain getaway of your dreams. Adequate lighting is needed for all forms of grooming. Include task-specific and ambient, or general, light. Multiple recessed ceiling fixtures are all but invisible and eliminate the locker-room look of a single ceiling-mounted fixture. Include a light fixture above the tub and/or in the shower. Avoid fluorescent lights, which alter the color of your complexion.
When updating your bathroom, don’t forget to redesign with the environment in mind. Low-flow toilets, sinks, and shower heads will not only help you conserve water, but they’ll also save you money. Plus, water-saving shower heads and faucets often cost the same, if not less, than traditional ones. So you won’t have to spend money to save money here.
How much should you spend on your master bathroom? A rule of thumb is that the total project—including materials and installation—should cost no more than 5 to 10 percent of your home’s value. The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) puts the national average at about $16,000. Another guide is Remodeling Magazine's Cost vs. Value report, which compares the average cost of various renovation projects with the value they retain at resale. In 2011-2012, mid-range bathroom remodels cost an average of $16,552 and recouped 62 percent, while upscale bathroom remodels cost an average of $52,249 and recouped 56 percent. Here’s how the NKBA breaks down the budget for a typical bathroom remodel:

This is great guys! Great work! I'm a retired kitchen guy so I know good work when I see it. I love all of it. My wife and I are doing a Farm kitchen right now as well. Your pictures have me thinking about sending in some before and after of ours. Just like you its the time we get to spend together during the project that makes the whole thing worth while. Great work. I cant say it enough!

Few things allow homeowners to put their mark on personal space, and make it feel intimate, more than classy and appealing tile work in a bathroom. Any tile work will require some amount of cutting tile yourself. If you are less experienced at this you will want to make as few cuts as possible. Calculate how much of your surface you can cover with whole tiles. Then you only have to cut for awkward corners or edges where a whole tile will not fit. Read more tips like this and get inspired with some of our bathroom tile ideas and pictures.

Another great place to look for upcycled bathroom accessories is Etsy. What can you find there? You’re only limited by your imagination. For instance, one Etsy artist takes brightly colored vintage Tupperware and turns them into cool hanging lamps. These could be fun and funky hanging in a bathroom! Another Etsy artist creates awesome, upcycled metal shelving that looks like a check mark. These could be fun for stacking folded towels. You can easily find upcycled bathroom accessories on Etsy by searching with keywords like “bathroom” or “upcycled.”

One of the first things you’ll want to do before jumping into a bathroom remodel is to develop a budget.
